Understanding the Significance of Boat LPG Certificates 1. Prioritizing Safety Boat LPG installations require careful maintenance and regular safety checks to ensure the well-being of you, your passengers, and your vessel. By obtaining a Boat LPG Certificate, you are demonstrating your commitment to safety and taking proactive measures to prevent accidents, fires, or explosions. 2. Complying with Mooring Requirements Many inland waterways marinas may require boats to hold valid Boat LPG Certificates as part of their mooring agreement. By adhering to these requirements, you not only avoid potential confrontation but also contribute to the overall safety and integrity of the waterway system. 3. Boat Solid Fuel Safety Certificates
Ensure Safe Sailing with Solid Fuel Appliance Certificates for Boats If you own a boat with solid fuel stoves or cooking ranges, then ensuring their safety should be a top priority. At Marine Heating Solutions, we offer Solid Fuel Appliance Certificates for boats to provide regular safety checks for your peace of mind. Let’s explore why it’s essential to stay vigilant and regularly inspect these appliances. 1. Optimal Performance: Regular safety checks and certification help ensure that your solid fuel stoves and cooking ranges operate at their best. Over time, these appliances can develop issues such as blocked flues, worn-out parts, or improper combustion, affecting their efficiency and overall performance. By scheduling routine checks, you can address these concerns promptly, allowing your appliances to maintain their optimal heating and cooking capabilities. 2. Carbon Monoxide Safety: Solid fuel appliances, if not properly maintained, can generate carbon monoxide (CO), a colorless and odorless gas that can be extremely dangerous, even fatal. Boat cabins are often enclosed spaces where the accumulation of CO can happen more quickly. Regular safety checks play a crucial role in identifying any potential CO leaks, blockages, or malfunctioning parts, preventing the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning, and keeping…

Regular safety checks enable timely identification of any issues, such as faulty connections, leaks, or worn-out parts, which might lead to a fire. By promptly addressing these concerns, you significantly reduce the risk of fire accidents and protect both your vessel and everyone on board. 2. Optimal Performance and Functionality: Boat Diesel/Oil Stoves, Cookers, and Heaters are essential for cooking meals and providing warmth. Regular safety checks ensure that these appliances are in optimal working condition. By identifying and resolving issues early, you guarantee efficient and safe operation, enhancing your overall boating experience. 3. Diesel
Diesel Heaters
At Marine Heating Solutions, we offer a variety of services for diesel heaters. Our heating engineers can service your appliance with original parts and to the manufacturer’s specifications. We can also design and install new diesel heating systems from scratch. Why not speak to us about your individual heating needs today? Air Diesel Heaters Air diesel heaters supply warm air via ducts and vents throughout the boat. These are great for small vessels where fitting a stove would be impractical. Air heaters also work well as a secondary system to take the edge off chilly spring and autumn times when lighting a stove would bring too much heat. [caption id=u0022attachment_110u0022 align=u0022alignnoneu0022 width=u0022640u0022] Air diesel heaters push heated air from vents into your living areas, keeping you toasty and warm[/caption] Water Diesel Heaters Water diesel heaters can supply a central heating system with radiators and hot water storage on their own, or as an addition to engine heated calorifiers to supply hot water. These are also great for day boat and boats used only during warmer seasons, where a permanent heat source isn’t needed. [caption id=u0022attachment_111u0022 align=u0022alignnoneu0022 width=u0022640u0022] Marine water diesel heaters work much like a domestic central heating boiler, with radiators…
Diesel Stoves
Diesel Stoves Diesel stoves come in many shapes and sizes, from wall mounted to units to free standing designs. They are a middle ground between high-tech modern diesel heaters and low/no-tech solid fuel stoves. Will a diesel stove work on my boat? Marine diesel stoves work by burning the diesel. Sounds obvious, but this means they will need a flue. This should be considered carefully and placed where it will not interfere with the operation of the boat, or where the differing winds operating on a boat underway will not cause hazards. A big benefit of marine diesel stoves is that they are much cleaner in the cabin that traditional sold fuel stoves. There is no ash or coal dust to fly around with a diesel stove. Diesel is also relatively straightforward to store, it can be held in diesel tanks tucked away in the boat’s hold. What are diesel stoves like to live with? Some users of marine diesel stoves report that they initially found it challenging to get them started. On commissioning or servicing an appliance, our engineers will make sure that you feel comfortable lighting the appliance on your own. Each appliance has a slightly different method…
Diesel Cookers
Diesel Cookers Diesel cookers are fast gaining in popularity, they bring the conveniences of diesel to the galley and offer reliable cooking for many years. What are Diesel Cookers? The units look similar to gas cookers commonly found on boats, but the hob works by heating up a hot plate rather than exposed hob burners as on an LPG cooker. These hot plates are either steel, cast iron or ceramic, depending on which model is used. Similar to cooking on domestic range cookers, you do not control the heat of the range. Instead you move your pan between hotter and cooler sections of the hot plate. The ovens work in much the same way as gas ovens, some are also fan assisted. [caption id=u0022attachment_120u0022 align=u0022alignnoneu0022 width=u0022640u0022] Whether your onboard menu is Michelin calibre or sausages and mash, diesel cookers could be the right option for you.[/caption] Is a Diesel Cooker Right for Me? On most boats, the only LPG installation is for the cooker. Diesel cookers allow you to side-step this, which offers benefits of safety and of one less system to maintain. There are hob-only units available, which may suit leisure boaters or those who just want a cup of…
LPG
LPG Boilers u0026 Heaters
LPG/Gas Boilers LPG gas boilers are common on boats, mainly as a source of hot water for washing and bathing. Ensure you contact a Gas safe registered engineer, especially if your boat is residential. Your engineer must also be qualified to work on LPG for boats. Our engineers will only work on appliances and systems for which they are qualified. LPG gas boilers must be serviced regularly, most manufacturers recommend at least yearly but this should be checked with your exact model of boiler. What Marine LPG Gas Boiler is Right for me? There are two broad categories of boilers suitable for marine use, instantaneous hot water heaters and combi boilers. [caption id=u0022attachment_122u0022 align=u0022alignnoneu0022 width=u0022640u0022] LPG boilers can provide instant hot water for your boat[/caption] Instantaneous water heaters simply heat water as it flows through the boiler. This means that the hot water is instantly produced, with no waiting around for a tank to heat up. This type of LPG Boiler is better suited to smaller boats with showers. On older boats, you will find instantaneous water heaters which are not room-sealed. When an appliance is room-sealed, no Carbon Monoxide, condensation or Carbon dioxide can leak from the appliance into the…
LPG Cookers
LPG Gas Cookers Marine LPG Gas cookers come in all shapes and sizes. There is an option to suit every boat. From compact, hob only models to large range type cookers. They should be installed and serviced by a registered Gas Safe Engineer. We recommend servicing at least once a year, or more often if recommended by the manufacturer. Modern LPG cookers are much safer than those historically fitted to boats. Your cooker should have a flame failure device fitted. These work in different ways, but all switch off the supply of gas when the flame has gone out. This minimises any gas escaping from the appliance. LPG cookers are quick to heat up and are straightforward to use. The temperature control can be precise and quick to respond. [caption id=u0022attachment_123u0022 align=u0022alignnoneu0022 width=u0022640u0022] LPG cookers are popular for many reasons, adaptability being just one[/caption] What LPG Gas Cooker is Right for me? Small cookers are available for compact spaces, such as the galley area on dayboats and small yachts. These can be just hobs, some are hob plus grill and others have an oven too. The benefit of these smaller units is that they can be more easily fitted on…
